Volunteering at Big Ridge

We value our parents and want you to be a part of our great school! 

Here are some opportunities for you!

Volunteer in your child's Classroom: 

You can contact your child's teacher or your homeroom parent to schedule a time to help assist the teacher. New this year, our volunteer coordinators have placed a set of shelves with teacher/staff tubs filled with jobs to complete. You can stop by the teacher's lounge to pick out a volunteering opportunity.

Volunteering at the Library:

Please contact Mrs. Neighbors for more information at

Simple tasks at the library include putting books back on the shelves, checking books in or out, and "shelf reading" to ensure books are in order and in the correct section.

Volunteering in the Art Room:

Volunteers needed for your child's Art Class! Any parents or grandparents who wish to help out, please contact Mrs. Catherine Gilreath at Time slots available are Monday through Thursday 8:30 - 3:05. Each class is 45 minutes. Please contact Mrs. Gilreath if you are interested in helping in our Art Lab!

Volunteering to Help with Buddy's Boo-Fest School Carnival:

If you are interested contact our PTA president for more information. We are looking for volunteers, parents to send in items such as individually wrapped candy, treats, volunteers to run a game or booth, and vendor sponsors.
