Hello My Name Is...

Shana Hakanson

I have been at Big Ridge since 2016 and teach general music classes for kindergarten through 5th grade. Additionally, I offer an auditioned 4th-5th grade chorus which performs in concert several times each year and puts on a biennial school musical. I have played the flute for 19 years and teach a 5th grade beginning flute class, as well. I graduated summa cum laude from Lee University, where I was flute section leader and principal player for the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra, Opera Theater, and TN All-Collegiate Band.
